Cancellation Policy

GUEST CANCELLATION

Guests may cancel their trip through our site or mobile app, and the cancellation is effective immediately. The refunded amount, if any, is dependent upon when the Guest cancels the trip. The amount will also vary by fee component (trip fee, protection fee, trip price, and if applicable, young driver fee).

Note that there are no credits/refunds issued for early returns.

PROTECTION FEE

The protection fee is fully refunded if the trip is cancelled before it starts.

YOUNG DRIVER FEE

The young driver fee is fully refunded if the trip is cancelled before it starts.

HOST CANCELLATION

If a Host wishes to cancel a booked trip, they must notify the Guest via on-site messaging at least 72 hours in advance, and process the cancellation through the TRIPCAR website or mobile app. The cancellation is effective immediately, and the Guest receives a complete refund. Guests are relying on Hosts to provide the car, so repeated cancellations will subject the Host to removal from our platform.

Cancelling a trip within 72 hours of the start of the trip will subject the Host to a minimum $50 fine and potential removal from the TRIPCAR platform.
